Mandale Homes shortlisted for Best UK Development at Property Awards.

We are very excited to announce, Mandale Homes, has been shortlisted for one of the biggest accolades in the property industry for our sustainable, exclusive living development in Slingsby, North Yorkshire. We have beat off 35 competitors, including large London based industry peers, to make the final two and be in the running for the coveted Best Residential UK Development award.

We also picked up the top 5* UK Property Award for the Best Residential Development in Yorkshire & the Humber for the same development Cavendish Vale, Slingsby, beating off 3 other category winners to bag the regional title.

Mandale now goes head to head with one other developer for the Best UK Development crown, we will find out if we have been successful in December, where we could also be recognised as the Best in the World.

The development featured 18 luxury homes (2, 3 and 4 beds) with 9 different styles and has been sympathetically designed in keeping with the local area.

Working in collaboration with the Local Authority we created the showpiece development which is set on the border of the Howardian Hills, an area of national beauty and retains the charm and character of the traditional buildings within Slingsby. Originally we planned to build 24 homes on the site, but reduced this to 18 in line with the types of homes in demand in the local area.

Landscaping of the scheme was also designed to encourage native wildlife back to the site and we retained as much of the original boundary vegetation as possible, incorporating it into the design, alongside protecting and trimming trees for future enjoyment by the local community.

Every aspect of the design, build and interiors of the homes within Cavendish Vale included environmental considerations from sourcing local materials to reduce transport costs and CO2 production to fitting energy efficient household appliances and low level lighting schemes which reduce light pollution and energy consumption. Eco-bins and water meters are installed with the intention of encouraging household recycling and discouraging excessive water consumption.

The UK Property Awards are judged by an independent panel of 70 industry experts and focus on design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability.

Mandale Homes raise £3,500 for Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Charity!

Mandale Group are proud patrons of the Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation, the charity was set up by Teessiders to help Teessiders. The North East has a high level of poverty and unfortunately sadly on a daily basis people are left deprived of food, clothing and home comforts that many of us take for granted.

Many of those that find themselves in this position are children and are unable to get themselves out of it until much older if at all.

Mandale Homes recently visited a luncheon club for children during the school holidays supported by the Philanthropic Foundation which ensured the children each got a meal, for many of them this is the only meal they will have received that day.

We wanted to support the charity by helping fund further work that will go to projects just like the lunch club. As it was the saddening sight of hunger in children that sparked this we thought it would be apt to put ourselves in their position for just one day and do a 24 hour fast. The one basic rule for everyone participating is – only water can pass our lips for 24 hours!

Barclays Bank, amazingly and kindly said they would support us by pledging to match fund any sponsorship raised up to the sum of £1,000. (We raise £1,000 and Barclays pledge £1,000 also!).

The fast started on the 28th September and ended on the 29th, aptly named the fast ‘Hungry for Home’ it is no different to what many children in Teesside face on a daily basis.

With support from Barclays, our business friends and our nearest and dearest we raised a total of £3,500!

WOW!! Massive well done to all at Mandale

The 16th September saw a celebratory show home opening at our Bedford Sidings development at Bishop Auckland with children’s construction character Ivor Goodsite as a star attraction for children whilst the adults were inspired by the new show homes and indulged in Prosecco and canapés.

Sales Manager Helen Woods said:

We’re expecting the entire development to be complete by the end of 2018. Thanks to our ‘Help to Buy’ scheme, the homes are proving incredibly popular with first-time buyers along with families and retired couples. Being such high-quality builds within such easy walking distance of the town centre, people fall in love with the development.

First to complete the purchase of one of the site’s 53 high-quality homes were first-time buyers Keith Jayne and Emma Hawley.

Teesside University graduate Keith, assistant restaurant manager at Bishop Auckland’s Toronto Lodge, and Marks & Spencer sales assistant Emma are eagerly looking forward to sharing their new three-bedroom home from mid-October.

The couple, who have lived with Emma’s mum in nearby Holdforth Drive for the last 18 months, say the high-quality interior, extended garden and value for money made their £134,995 purchase an easy decision.

We were the first people to look round and were so keen that we put down a £500 deposit within days,” said Emma, 25. “It’s so much bigger and better value than anything we’ve seen anywhere else.

It’s exciting and scary to think that we’ll soon have our own space, but Mandale couldn’t have been more helpful. They have made everything so easy for us.

And 10 Bedford Sidings will feel like home from day one, as their new neighbours will include Emma’s hairdresser, a former neighbour of her mum’s and one of Keith’s former classmates!
